Dumping Safety

Please be aware of your surroundings while dumping. When opening the dumpster door before dumping, please allow enough room to be able to swing the gate open and not be exposed to debris that may fall out of dumpster after the door is opned. Do not assume that the debris will not shift and fall out when opening the gate. Be extra careful when the dumpster has heavy materials like doors, concrete, and steel beams.

Never enter the swing radius of the dumpster gate when the dumpster is being dumped. The door could come unlatched and swing out.

Also, do not open the dumpster door until you backed into transfer station on the tipping floor. Do not open before you back in.

Back in slowly to transfer station. Do need rush when backing in.

Stay out of the way when heavy equipment is being used at a dump site. Always make eye contact with the operator of the equipment and never walk in the equipment's blind spot.

If you are operating equipment, always look behind before going in reverse.
