Winter driving is the most difficult driving season. Snow and ice make even the most routine drive dangerous.
Vehicle Checks include the following:-Check coolant level
-Check batteries
-Check Brakes
-Inspect tires for wear and proper inflation
-Test heater, defroster, and fans
-Inspect windshield for cracks
-Replace worn or damaged windshield wiper blades
While you are driving:
-Clear all ice, snow, and dirt off windows, mirros, and lights.
-Try to clear snow from all vehicle services so snow and ice that slides off doesn't block windshield
-Know the conditions of the road and touch brakes to measure effectiveness
-Reduce speed over bridges, suspended surfaces, turns, and exit/entry ramps
-Increase normal following distance of 4 seconds, an additional 1-2 seconds
-Turn headlights on anytime there is adverse weather conditions
