Winter driving is the most difficult driving season. Snow and ice make even the most routine drive dangerous.  Vehicle Checks include the following:-Check coolant level -Check batteries -Check Brakes -Inspect tires for wear and proper inflation -Test heater, defroster, and fans -Inspect windshield for cracks -Replace worn or damaged windshield wiper blades While you are driving: -Clear all ice, snow, and dirt off windows, mirros, and lights. -Try to clear snow from all vehicle services so snow and ice that slides off doesn't block windshield -Know the conditions of the road and touch brakes to measure effectiveness -Reduce speed over bridges, suspended surfaces, turns, and exit/entry ramps -Increase normal following distance of 4 seconds, an additional 1-2 seconds -Turn headlights on anytime there is adverse weather conditions -Watch out for pedestrians  -Make sure... » Read more

Skidsteers
Skidsteers are some of the most common pieces of equipment on a demolition or construction site. Running a skidsteer requires skill and coordination. Only trained personnel should be assigned to operate a skidsteer. The operator must understand the capabilities of the machine and its limitations. Operator must be familiar with the work environment and know floor loading capacity, make sure jobsite has proper lighting, know the locations of floor openings or leading edges, where other workers and trades will be, and if baricades or spotters will be required. Operator must wear a seatbelt at all times.  Required personal protective equipment is a hard hat, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
